Terms of Service
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Cardboard Magic, Inc. (Cardboard Magic, we, us, or our). By creating an account, funding an account balance, purchasing or opening a pack, accepting a buyback offer, or otherwise using Cardboard Magic, you agree to these Terms and the policies they incorporate. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility and location
You must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter a contract, and satisfy any higher age or location requirement shown by the service. You may use Cardboard Magic only where our products are lawful and available. We may require age, identity, location, payment, or fraud checks and may refuse a transaction when eligibility cannot be confirmed.
Funding an account balance by card or bank payment through our payment processor is available only to customers located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Finland, France, Poland, and Spain, and only where Cardboard Magic is otherwise available. Being able to pay from a country does not by itself make the service available there.
2. What Cardboard Magic provides
Cardboard Magic offers randomized packs containing identified physical graded trading cards. When you open a pack, one card is selected from the disclosed pool under the published draw process and assigned to your account. You may hold an assigned card in our vault, accept an eligible Cardboard Magic buyback for account credit, or request shipment when shipping is enabled and available for your location.
A pack is a purchase of a randomized physical-card outcome. It is not an investment, savings product, security, or promise of profit. Card prices can rise or fall, and our displayed values are estimates rather than guaranteed resale prices.
3. Accounts and account credit
You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in methods secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Funds added through an approved payment or deposit provider are recorded as a USD-denominated Cardboard Magic account balance. Account balance and promotional credit may be used only for eligible Cardboard Magic purchases, are not transferable between customers, do not earn interest, and are not a bank account or cryptocurrency wallet. Unless we expressly enable a lawful withdrawal feature, account credit cannot be withdrawn for cash or cryptocurrency.
Some card-funded amounts may be restricted while a provider dispute or chargeback window remains open. Promotional, bonus, or restricted credit may carry additional conditions displayed when granted.
4. Randomized packs and odds
Before purchase, each pack page displays its current published probabilities, including probability by value band, per-card probability where applicable, the cards in the pool, estimated values, average pull value, the chance a pull is worth less than the pack price, and the buyback terms. Odds differ by pack and may change only through a newly published version when inventory changes. The version committed to your draw governs that draw.
Odds are those published when you open. Price locked.
You are responsible for reviewing the pack page before buying. No employee, message, preview, or past result changes the published probability of your purchase. A preview is illustrative and is not your actual draw.
5. Cards, custody, and values
After a completed reveal, the selected card is assigned to you in our records and held in our physical custody until it is sold back or shipped. Title and risk allocation remain subject to applicable law and any unresolved payment fraud, chargeback, or ownership dispute. You may not sell, pledge, or transfer a vaulted card outside the features we provide.
If a card assigned to you is lost, missing, or destroyed while it is in our physical custody, we will offer you the same card in the same grade from the same grading company. If you do not accept that replacement, or we cannot offer one, we will credit your account balance with the higher of the card's recorded value when you pulled it and its current estimated value. If part of the pack's price was paid with season-prize credit, the same share of that credit comes back as pack credit, which can be spent on packs but not withdrawn. The rest is withdrawable on the same schedule as buyback proceeds, including any hold that applies to the payment that bought the pack. Two members of our staff must approve each case, and a loss in our custody never by itself restricts your account. This remedy applies notwithstanding the limitation of liability in Section 11.
Card descriptions, certification numbers, images, grades, and value estimates are provided in good faith. Market values are estimates based on disclosed sources and methods and may be delayed, incomplete, or different from an actual sale price. Contact support promptly if a card materially differs from its listing.
6. Buybacks
An eligible buyback offer is optional and is not a guaranteed market sale. The applicable rate, amount, and acceptance window are displayed before you open and with the resulting card. If you accept, ownership returns to Cardboard Magic and the stated amount is added to your account balance. An expired offer does not obligate us to make a replacement offer.
7. Refunds and shipping
The Refund Policy published at https://cardboardmagic.io/refund-policy and the Shipping Policy published at https://cardboardmagic.io/shipping-policy are incorporated into these Terms. Opened packs are ordinarily final because the randomized result has been revealed. Shipping is currently unavailable until the customer shipping workflow is enabled. Do not assume a card can be shipped to a location unless the service accepts that request.
8. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- use false identity, age, location, payment, or shipping information;
- use Cardboard Magic where prohibited or evade an eligibility, spending, or self-exclusion control;
- manipulate, probe, automate, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service or a draw;
- exploit an error, duplicate transaction, unauthorized payment method, chargeback, or account belonging to another person;
- use the service for money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, or other unlawful activity; or
- scrape or commercially reuse content except as allowed by law or written permission.
We may pause transactions, restrict or close accounts, preserve records, or cooperate with providers and authorities when reasonably necessary to protect customers, inventory, the service, or legal compliance.
9. Intellectual property
Cardboard Magic, its original artwork, software, site design, and content are owned by us or our licensors. Trading-card names, images, grading-company marks, and other third-party materials belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
10. Service availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the service, inventory records, and draw verification available, but maintenance, provider outages, network conditions, legal restrictions, and events beyond our control may interrupt them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available and without implied warranties that can lawfully be disclaimed. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or remedy that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cardboard Magic will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, lost profits, or market-value changes arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the transaction giving rise to the claim or 100 US dollars. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms prospectively. Each published version has an effective date and remains in the version history. If a material change requires renewed agreement, we will request it before a covered transaction. We may discontinue features or terminate access, but will address valid account balances and cards in our custody consistently with applicable law and the policies in effect.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by New Hampshire law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except to the extent the law of your residence provides non-waivable protections. Before filing a claim, you and Cardboard Magic agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve it through support. Nothing here prevents either party from using small-claims court or seeking urgent injunctive relief where available.
